Parent Help Levy – Why Your Involvement Matters
Strathpine Little Athletics Centre is entirely volunteer-run. Our committee members, officials, and helpers generously donate their time, energy, and skills to make each season possible — much of it behind the scenes, year-round.
To run a Friday night competition smoothly and on time, we need up to 80 volunteers each week. Without enough hands, events are delayed, and the experience isn’t as enjoyable for athletes, families, or officials. That’s why we rely so heavily on parent involvement — it truly makes all the difference.
Your Commitment
To help share the load fairly:
-
Each family is asked to commit to 10 nights of parent help during the season.
-
At the start of the season, you’ll be charged a Parent Help Levy of $80.
-
This amount will be fully refunded once you’ve completed your 10 volunteer nights.
-
There are 22 competition nights across the season, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and meet the requirements.
How can I help?
There are plenty of small ways that make a big difference - from cooking the BBQ, helping in the canteen, and setting up on Friday nights, to being an age group marshal or assisting at events by raking, spiking, or retrieving. Every extra hand counts to help make the night run smoothly.

⚠️ Please note:
Competition will not begin each Friday night until all age group roles are filled.
Your help keeps our Centre running — thank you for being part of our community!
NO PARENT/GUARDIAN - NO COMPETITION. Please note that we have a strict policy that states: “If children do not have a parent or designated carer on the ground at competition evenings, they will not be allowed to compete until a parent or guardian arrives.”
